TREMENDOUS SILVERSTONE FESTIVAL FOR DHG RACING

DHG Racing experienced an outstanding weekend during the Silverstone Festival. In the hands of David and Olivier Hart, the DHG cars were constantly at the front, achieving numerous successes.

In the Masters Sports Car Legends, David and Olivier qualified first with a margin of more than half a second, even while using worn tyres. David started the race and immediately found himself in a major battle for the lead. This leading group contained all the favourites for victory, and the top teams headed for the mandatory pit stops together. The stop lasted slightly longer than ideal, forcing DHG Racing—now with Olivier behind the wheel—to fight their way forward. This was achieved almost immediately in the first lap of the stint, putting the Ferrari into second place. After this, Olivier gave chase to Alex Brundle; following a brief skirmish, Brundle’s Lola sports car was also overtaken, and the race was eventually won with a lead of more than 10 seconds.

David Hart drove solo in the Lister Jaguar Costin during the race for the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy & Stirling Moss Trophy, having to fight his way forward after a hectic and chaotic qualifying session. Starting sixteenth in wet conditions, David drove an excellent race, keeping his nose clean in the crowded field and cutting through the pack like a hot knife through butter. Within a few laps, David reached the top ten, but his progress did not stop there. Ultimately, David finished third on track, but thanks to a penalty for the second-placed car, second place was the final reward for an excellent performance.

Olivier Hart drove the Shelby Cobra Daytona solo in the International Trophy for Classic GT Cars, which resulted in an insane race with an equally insane result. Olivier started the race in fourth, but a brilliant start saw the Cobra move up to second place behind Nigel Greensall. A battle ensued but, with the second half of the race in mind, tyres were managed and powder was kept dry. After the pit stops, the battle that all of Silverstone was watching unfolded. Olivier had to hold off the very fast Julian Thomas for fifteen minutes. At one point, Thomas pulled completely alongside and victory seemed lost, but Olivier countered immediately and restored order at the front. After more than fifty minutes of racing, the margin was less than half a second, but in favour of the DHG Cobra. An incredible victory.

And so, a very strong weekend for DHG Racing concluded, with the team heading home from Silverstone satisfied with three trophies and two victories.
