The DHG Racing team did not reach the finish of the Spa Six Hours endurance race. David Hart, Olivier Hart, and Nicky Pastorelli, winners of the race in 2022, were once again performing strongly until technical problems prevented them from reaching the finish line.

“What might have been.” That is the best way to describe the Spa 6 Hours endurance race. While everything fell into place during last year’s race, this edition was thwarted by a technical problem.

In qualifying, the team set a strong fourth-fastest time with Olivier in the car, allowing the golden Ford GT40 to start the race immediately in the leading group. David took the start of the race and delivered an excellent opening stint. This put the team in a strategically strong position for the remainder of the race.

Halfway through the race, the car—now with Nicky Pastorelli behind the wheel—was even in the virtual lead, and the team seemed able to build on the strong start, but fate had other plans. A broken driveshaft ruined their chances and ensured that DHG Racing did not reach the finish this time.

A matter of what if. But armed with the knowledge that the DHG Racing Ford GT40 could once again compete with the very best historic endurance teams in Europe, the team will be back again next year.
