DOUBLE PODIUM FOR DHG RACING AT MUGELLO CLASSIC

The first weekend of the racing season has turned out excellently for DHG Racing. During the Mugello Classic event, David Hart performed outstandingly in two different classes and leaves Italy not only with silverware, but also with the knowledge that the team is in good shape right at the start of the year.

With the iconic Lola T70, David fought for the podium in the Classic Endurance Racing 1 championship. In a field full of Le Mans sports cars from the sixties and seventies, David qualified third, trailing only a very powerful McLaren and a more modern Porsche. In the race, the Lola moved up to second place as early as the second lap, and while the McLaren was in a league of its own, a great battle for second place ensued with Toni Seiler in an identical Lola. Ultimately, that battle was settled in David’s favour with a lead of one and a half seconds, securing second place for DHG Racing.

In the Endurance Racing Legends, for sports cars and GTs from recent history, David qualified third in the field of over thirty cars with the Courage C60 LMP1. In the first race, it became clear that David could fully compete for the victory on race pace until, from a promising position, a punctured tyre blocked the way to the podium. It went differently in the second race, in which the black Courage was in a non-stop battle with the MG of Christian Gläsel. A fight to the finish seemed imminent until an inattentive backmarker caused David to spin, losing over ten seconds. This could no longer be made up. However, the pace was so good that second place was still achieved.
