DHG Racing has once again achieved success during the Silverstone Classic. On the British Formula 1 circuit, a Mecca for motorsport enthusiasts, David and Olivier Hart raced in three different events, with the team securing two podium finishes.

In the RAC Historic Tourist Trophy, David Hart drove the Ferrari 250 Short Wheel Base in a magnificent race to the podium. Starting fourth in a strong field, David quickly moved up to third place. For a moment, a second-place finish seemed possible as David passed the Pearson Jaguar E-Type, but the lightweight British sports car managed to pass him again. After more than fifty minutes of racing, the DHG Ferrari finished third, just a hair’s breadth away from second place.

In the Adrian Flux Trophy for historic touring cars, David and Olivier secured pole position with their impressive BMW CSL. With an average speed of nearly 160 kilometers per hour, it was an impressive qualifying lap, beating 44 other touring cars. David started the race and held onto the lead despite a fierce battle with Wim Kuijl in the Ford Capri. This went on for several laps until an unfortunate contact sent the BMW spinning. David managed to keep the car out of the wall, but lost a lot of time and positions. Nevertheless, David kept the podium in sight, and everything was still possible. After the pit stop, Olivier took over the wheel and began the hunt for the win.

This was within reach, especially thanks to the fastest lap of the race, which was nearly two seconds quicker than the competition. However, on a warm British summer day, the BMW’s engine overheated towards the end of the race, requiring an extra pit stop. As a result, second place was the highest achievable.

In the Masters Sportscar Legends, featuring Le Mans cars from the 1960s and 1970s, David and Olivier qualified fourth with their Lola T70 MK3B. The sixty-minute race would be the final event of the weekend, and the thirty-car field delivered an exciting race.

David started the race in the Lola from fourth place, but a fantastic start saw the green Lola move up to second. However, this position wasn’t sustainable, and David had to defend strongly in the early stages. The team once again seemed poised for a podium finish. Unfortunately, things went awry in the second stint. With Olivier behind the wheel, the Lola suddenly had to pit due to a technical issue, resulting in an early end to the race and the event.

Still, DHG Racing can be very satisfied with their performance at Silverstone. With two podium finishes and a strong race in the third event, the team was more than successful at the circuit known as “The Home of British Motorsport.”
