At a sun-drenched Silverstone, the DHG team, with David and Olivier, had the opportunity to prove they could compete with a very strong international field that knows the twisty circuit like the back of their hand.
Free practice didn’t go perfectly for the Lister Jaguar; due to a misshift by Olivier, it had to remain in the garage for the weekend. The Cobra Daytona and the Lola went as expected.
During qualifying, Olivier made up for it, setting the fastest time with the Cobra, a full 1.5 seconds behind the second-place finisher. David had more trouble finding the right setup with the Lola on this challenging circuit.
On race day, Olivier started with the Cobra and managed to open up a gap to the second-place finisher. However, a serious crash prompted a safety car, which threw a wrench in the works for the drivers, causing them to lose many positions. With just ten minutes remaining, the field was released, and David managed to bring the Cobra home in sixth place, just 9 seconds behind the first-place finisher.
The FIA Historic Sports Cars field was very strong, and David was present in the Lola. After the start, as always, he managed to work his way to the front and maintain a good lead. Due to a misunderstanding, he pitted too early in P8 and had to return to the pits. Unfortunately, this resulted in a significant loss of time, and the DHG Team had to settle for twelfth place.
