DHG Racing was born out of David Hart’s desire to take to historic racing with the same spirit and goals as he has set for himself in both his racing and business career. Victory is always the aim when DHG Racing is on an entry list. Over the years the team has proven to be experts in sourcing and preparing for competition some of the most exquisite cars in motorsport history. From their premises close to The Hague, the DHG Racing team has taken on the best teams and drivers in historic motorsport for over a decade.
In that time the team has grown slowly but surely into its role as one of the favourites in historic competition, bringing not only David Hart to the events but internationally renowned stars like Tom Coronel, Tom Kristensen, Nicolas Minassian, Nicky Pastorelli and Giedo van der Garde, to name a few.
The team grew even further when David’s son Olivier came to the fore, regularly teaming up as a family for the longer races in Masters Series and Peter Auto competition. Over the years the team has also ventured out in running cars for new drivers to the DHG family.
DHG Racing’s mantra remains: prepare and race to win, whenever you start a race.
David and Olivier Hart
At Le Mans
Around the year 2000, David raced with various cars such as the Lister Storm and Chrysler Viper, achieving several victories on some of Europe’s most beautiful circuits. The Belcar Series in Belgium also played an important role in his motorsport career, with numerous wins and the championship title in 2005. During the various 24-hour races at Zolder, he was often among the front runners and won this prestigious race no less than twice with a Corvette. In the world of sports cars, David also competed together with Jan Lammers in the Dome during races at Le Mans and many other circuits.

At Le Mans
Still, classic car racing came back into the picture; David returned to the Masters Series with many exclusive cars such as a Bizzarrini, AC Cobra, Porsche 962, Ferrari 512, and Lola T70—all owned by him. These cars were raced on Europe’s most beautiful circuits, including Le Mans, Nürburgring, and Spa, with only one goal: to win! A highlight in 2010 was a brief return to the famous 24-hour race of Le Mans, where David achieved a second-place finish with the Corvette C6. In 2011, despite an extremely busy schedule, the results were excellent. Victories with the AC Cobra and podium finishes with the Lola T70 MKIII were among his successes. David was also active in modern racing, competing in the V8-Star series and in the 24-hour race at Spa with a BMW.
About
David Hart has had a true passion for anything that moves since he was born. Soon that passion translated to cars and more specifically, motorsport. His own racing career began in the early Eighties in national racing behind the steering wheel of a humble Volkswagen Golf GTi. Following these early steps, success came in one-make racing such as the Toyota Starlet and Alfa Squadra Bianca series, netting David a total of three national titles.
Around the start of the new millennium, David made another step up to international GT racing and started competing in cars such as the Lister Storm GT and Chrysler Viper, achieving success in one of the toughest GT championships in Europe’s most beautiful tracks. Alongside his international racing, David was extremely successful in the Belcar Series. The Belgian GT and touring car championship proved important to his motorsport career, with several victories and the title in 2005.
The best was yet to come though as David raced a Corvette GT1 twice to victory in the 24 Hours of Zolder and to a podium in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2010. LMP1 beckoned and David joined former winner Jan Lammers in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Le Mans Cup. More recently David raced in the V8 Star series and the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.
Historic racing never remained far from the picture though. David and the DHG team became stalwarts of the Masters Series and brought many great, unique and exclusive cars back to the track. Cars such as the Bizzarrini, AC Cobra, Porsche 926, Ferrari 512 and the Lola T70 have been lovingly owned, prepared and raced to great success on Europe’s most iconic tracks and historic racing’s most important events.
Navigating a busy business schedule, David turned DHG Racing into a powerhouse on and off track, one he shares with his son Olivier as the team races with only one goal in mind: victory.
