ZANDVOORT WINTERCHAMPIONSHIP 2018 REPORT

With a fifth-place starting position for Saturday’s standing start, there was no doubt about a good finish at the end of this spectacular race.
Once again, David took off like a bat out of the Zandvoort dunes and was already in the lead by the Tarzan corner.

The race was plagued by numerous accidents and stranded cars in the early stages, preventing the Speedlover Team from extending their lead under code 60.

David managed to maintain his P1 position until the pit stop, after which Olivier took over the wheel. During his stint, he heard a strange noise, forcing him to pit.

The mechanics soon discovered a burnt-off rear bumper caused by a clogged catalytic converter that had become so hot that everything was melting away.

End of story for the Hart gentlemen; this time they were unable to enjoy the traditional fireworks display at the end of the race.
